Acid-resistant steel refers to stainless steel containing at least 2% molybdenum (Mo). Molybdenum plays a significant role in the steel’s corrosion resistance, i.e., how well it withstands various forms of corrosion.

We recommend using acid-resistant steel for swimming pool environments and, in general, when the object is permanently or frequently exposed to water. Acid-resistant steel is also recommended when used with wood, to prevent corrosion caused by the wood’s acidity.

The steel beam can be used for reinforcing beams, posts, overlays above doors or windows, etc.

Acid-resistant steel is so similar to regular stainless steel that the difference is not visibly noticeable.
To calculate the correct size and load-bearing capacity, please consult an engineer or structural specialist.

In the attached table, the S-dimension indicates the web thickness and the T-dimension indicates the flange thickness.
